Associate Professor at the University of Genoa, Corrado Schenone teaches "Applied Physics" and "Environmental Control" at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Genova. Corrado Schenone holds a PhD in Applied Physics and is author of more than 80 papers in the fields of applied acoustics and heat transfer.
In addition to fundamental studies on energy efficiency an acoustics, the recent research topics concern sustainable energy and noise pollution. At present, he is working about sound absorbing materials and noise control in urban areas. The research activity has resulted mainly in the publication of 86 scientific papers, of which 49 presented in international meetings or printed on books or journals.
He is member of several scientific bodies such as the “Technical Committee on Environment Protection” of the “International Maritime Association of the Mediterranean”; the Scientific Committee of the “Interuniversity Research Centre on Physical Agents Pollution” (CIRIAF); the Board of the” Interdepartmental Research Centre for Urban and Ecological Engineering” (CRUIE); the Scientific Committee of “Genova Smart City” association; the Editorial Board of the “Journal of Shipping and Ocean Engineering” concerning the issue “Noise pollution”; the Board of the “Regional Energy Agency” (ARE) of Liguria Region
He is also Coordinator of the UE Project ENPI-CBC-MED “Managing the Environmental Sustainability of Ports for a durable development – MESP” and Scientific responsible for the University of Genoa of the UE Project FP7-ENERGY SMART CITIES 2012.8.8.2.
Furthermore, he has been responsible for research and consultancy on behalf of many Public Bodies and Private Companies.
